The project has contributed to an improvement of the energy performance and indoor air quality of social housing apartments by providing appropriate solutions for retrofitting, and by introducing methods to overcome technical and non-technical barriers associated with retrofitting of social housing. |
■ |
A quality assurance (QA) system was introduced in the retrofitting process to ensure that the most efficient measures were chosen and that a high level of integrated energy and indoor environmental performance is maintained throughout operation of the buildings. |
■ |
Up-to-date knowledge and good examples of successful energy-intelligent solutions tailored to the social housing sector have been collected from the participating countries and disseminated through out Europe. |
■ |
A number of social housing blocks in Austria, Finland, Spain and Sweden have been retrofitted to a higher standard of energy and indoor environmental performance by applying the QA system. |
